Top-ranked Shaker wins dual meet

The Shaker boys cross country team suffered no ill effects from its Eastern States victory at last Saturday's Manhattan Invitational.

The Blue Bison ran like the top-ranked Class AA team in New York at Tuesday's Suburban Council dual meet at Maple Ridge Ski Area in Rotterdam. Shaker downed Saratoga Springs 19-37 and handled Mohonasen 15-50.

Saratoga's Sam Place was the top runner with a time of 16:52. Shaker's Mike Libruk was second with a time of 17:05, and Saratoga's Kyle Wegner placed third with a time of 17:23.

Saratoga defeated Mohonasen 15-50 in the other boys dual meet result.

On the girls' side, Saratoga easily handled Shaker and Mohonasen by identical 15-50 scores. Shaker defeated Mohonasen 16-43.

Saratoga's Amanda Borroughs and Margaret MacDonald led a tight pack with times of 20:54. Teammates Keelin Hollowood and Sydney King followed with times of 20:55."
