City police, fire personnel and New York State Forest Rangers continued the search for 69-year-old Eleanor Adams who was reported missing on the morning of Thursday, Sept. 16. Volunteers from several local volunteer fire companies and members of the Volunteer Search Federation joined the search on Tuesday, Sept. 21, and focused on several wooded areas north of Embury Apartments, according to Lt. Greg Veitch of the Saratoga Springs Police Department.
About 60 searchers were on the ground searching, said Veitch, and the search area has been expanded into the town of Greenfield north of the City line.
Police say they still have very little information surrounding Adams' disappearance. No new sightings have been reported and police are asking city residents to check their properties and any outbuildings they may not have accessed in the past couple of days.
Veitch said police expect to continue the search again Wednesday. Public Safety Commissioner Richard Wirth said in a statement, this missing person case is a top priority for the department and all reasonable steps will be taken in an effort to find her.
Anyone who may have information regarding the whereabouts of Eleanor "Ellie" Adams is asked to contact the Saratoga Springs Police Department at 584-1800 or the Crime Tip Line at 584-TIPS (8477).
