A head-on collision happened around 6:50 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, on route 9W near route 396, Selkirk, sending both drivers to the hospital.
The driver of one vehicle was trapped in her car and members of the Selkirk Fire Department had to use the Jaws of Life to cut the roof off the vehicle and extricate her. Route 9W was closed for about 30 minutes as emergency personnel secured the scene.
