continued By clicking on one of the blue donation markers, people can find out what organization the donations site is affiliated with and its street address. Also, the pop-up text bubble for each site has two additional tabs. The “Donations” tab reveals what types of donations are being accepted, or if volunteers are needed, and what times donations can be dropped off. The “Contact” tab provides information to get in touch with the organization or business.
When the map was started there were less than 100 locations listed, but now there are around 200 spots throughout the Capital District. The map is a natural project for the company, which provides customized mapping services.
Although the holiday season is the peak time for donations, the map is up and running all year long.
Even though the map does take some time to put together, Fisher said the company is more than willing to help spur and encourage charitable activity.
