Two more Skidmore students convicted in December assault

Two additional Skidmore students were convicted for their involvement in the Compton's restaurant assault in December 2010 on Broadway in Saratoga Springs, according to Saratoga County District Attorney James A. Murphy.

Elijah Johnston and Korvin Vicente both pleaded to disorderly conduct on Feb. 22, and both were assessed a fine of $250 which the students have until March 22 to pay, according to information from Murphy's office.

According to New York penal law, disorderly conduct is defined as \intent to cause public inconvenience, annoyance or alarm and engaging in fighting, violent, tumultuous or threatening behavior.

Justin Tavarez, the student who injured the victim by striking him with a plate, previously pleaded guilty to assault in the third degree, a class a misdemeanor, and a fourth student's case is still pending, according to information from Murphy's office.

Murphy said no further comment about the case would be available.""
