From beer trip to felony DWI arrest

An early morning beer trip ended in a felony DWI arrest in Queensbury on Jan. 13, according to State Police.

On Jan. 13, State Police in Queensbury were on patrol when they came upon a pickup truck stuck in a snowbank at approximately 3 a.m, according to police reports. After a search of the area and an interview of a witness, two area men were located nearby in another truck and it was determined that one of the men, James A. Hendley, 31, of Glens Falls, was the driver and was both intoxicated and unlicensed, according to police reports. Because this was Hendley's third DWI arrest in 10 years, he was arrested for aggravated DWI, a class D felony, according to police reports, and his unlicensed status was also aggravated unlicensed in the first degree, a class E felony. The reason given for why the two men were out at 3 a.m. in the truck was to buy more beer, police said.
