On Wednesday, July 6, Deanna Stephenson announced her intention to run for Supervisor for the Town of Halfmoon.
For over a decade, candidates for the Town of Halfmoon Supervisor race ran unopposed. 2011 marks a milestone for Halfmoon as its residents and businesses will now have a choice and a new voice in the future direction of the
town. Stephenson is the first woman Democrat to run in the Supervisor race in nearly four decades.
The community, which is made up of our residents, business owners and developers, and various organizations, is the 'core business' of Halfmoon, said Stephenson in a statement. "Over the next several months, I will be speaking with and listening to our community members. I compare this opportunity to an interview process for the job of Supervisor, and I expect hard questions to be
posed; I wouldn't expect anything less. Then on Nov. 8, the community must choose the new direction for the town and the best person to lead them and partner with them for this new era. I believe I am the person for that job."
Stephenson, a native of the Capital Region, has lived in Halfmoon since 1999 with her husband, Matt, and their two children, Olivia and Aidan. She is employed by the New York State Psychological Association as the Director of
