Seven players will represent the Albany Dutchmen on the East Division team at next Monday's Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game in Elmira.
Catcher Dain McNabb, first baseman Steve Anderson, utility infielder Brandon Trinkwon and outfielder Andrew Deeds were named starters, while Steve Poche and Austin Chase were selected for the East's pitching staff. Utility infielder Anthony Turgeon was named one of four reserves.
McNabb entered this week's games leading the PGCBL in batting average at .383 and a .550 slugging percentage. Anderson, a Guilderland High School graduate, had belted three home runs and driven in a team-high 17 runs prior to Tuesday's doubleheader at Newark. Trinkwon had 24 hits, 16 runs scored and 11 stolen bases, and Deeds owned a .321 batting average with 12 RBI and 14 runs scored.
Poche has been strong in his appearances as a starting pitcher with a 2.95 earned run average and 19 strikeouts in 21.1 innings pitched. Chase had a 1-0 record and a 1.72 ERA as a reliever for the Dutchmen.
Turgeon had a .302 batting average and 24 total bases through Sunday's 9-3 victory over Amsterdam."
