The Plainsmen continued to apply heavy pressure on Bourgeois on an ensuing power play that lasted into the third period, but the junior stopped every shot to preserve Saratoga's slim lead. Bourgeois finished with 16 saves.

"He scrambled around [at times], but he did a great job," said Ricupero. "I couldn't ask for anything more out of him."

"The fact of the matter is we had to get the puck to the net, and we did that in the third period," said de la Rocha. "We just couldn't finish our opportunities."

Bernardo finished with 22 saves on 25 shots for Shen.

"He makes stops to keep us in the game and gives us a chance to win, but it's a two-way street," said de la Rocha. "Our offense has to step up."

Saratoga advances to Saturday's regional final against Section X champion Potsdam at Clarkson University. The winner gets a trip to Utica for next weekend's state tournament.""
