The Scotia-Glenville girls tennis team completed its 2011 season with a 16-1 record and its second consecutive Foothills Council title.
The Lady Tartans reached the Section II Class A team tournament semifinals before losing to Academy of the Holy Names 5-2. Scotia-Glenville defeated Big 10 champion Amsterdam 6-1 in the quarterfinal round.
Colleen McLaughlin and Angela Guzzo won the doubles title at the Foothills Council Tournament last month by defeating teammates Jaime Brown and Becca Zoeller. McLaughlin had a 9-8 record as the Lady Tartans' No. 1 singles player.
Jes Briere had a 15-2 overall record at No. 2 singles, while Kathryn Martin posted a 16-1 mark at No. 3 singles for Scotia-Glenville. Olivia Marola went 13-2 at No. 4 singles, while Julia Goyette, Caitlin Estes and Alex August had a combined record of 15-2 sharing No. 5 singles duties.
Brown and Guzzo went 16-1 at No. 1 doubles for the Lady Tartans, while Zoeller teamed up with several players to post a 16-1 record at No. 2 doubles. Additionally, Jamie Cheung and Carli Aragosa took the Foothills Council B doubles title by beating teammates Emma Lydon and Lisa Zhou.
Overall, Scotia-Glenville carried 25 players on its girls tennis team this season.
