Police warn of Guilderland burglaries

The Guilderland Police Department has issued a warning about an increase in burglaries during the daytime hours in the vicinity of the Guilderland Center and Fort Hunter neighborhoods.

Police are warning residents to lock their doors and windows when they leave home and to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.

Guilderland Police have also warned of would-be burglars who knock on doors and come up with excuses such as looking for a lost dog on for a friend, in an attempt to see if anyone is home.

Police have received reports in the areas of Route 158, West Old State Street, East Lydius Street, Serafini Drive, Partridgeberry Court, Dobie Lane, Depot Road, and Ostrander Road.

Investigations into those burglaries are ongoing, and police said that the public’s assistance could help in solving the crimes.

Anyone with information should call the Guilderland Police Department’s Investigations division at 356-1501.
