New York State Police have charged a Nevada woman with a violation of Leandra’s Law after an Amber Alert was issued out of New Jersey.

State Police said Kathryn Leray, 29, of Incline Village, Nevada, was stopped shortly after noon Saturday, Nov. 26, just south of Exit 23 on the Thruway.

Police were first notified that the woman was suicidal and traveling northbound on the Thruway with her 1-year-old son.
