Turnovers hurt Blue Bison

Emma Rupert and Julia Samson each won a pair of individual events to lead the Plainswomen. Rupert won the 100- and 200-yard freestyles, while Samson finished first in the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard butterfly.

Tarah Killane (50-yard freestyle), Sydney Weiskopf (diving) and Susie Schwarz (500-yard freestyle) also won individual events for Shen.

Boys volleyball

The Bethlehem boys volleyball team enters Saturday's Mid-season Tournament in fine form after sweeping Columbia 3-0 in Friday's Suburban Council match in Delmar.

Mike Marshman had nine kills, and Mike Carrk contributed six kills for the Eagles (10-0), who won by scores of 25-10, 25-13 and 25-15. Benji Federman added 30 assists.

The Mid-season Tournament features all 12 Suburban Council boys volleyball teams.

Girls volleyball

Niskayuna served its way to a 3-0 sweep of Shaker in Friday's Suburban Council girls volleyball match in Latham.

The Silver Warriors (4-5) recorded 16 service aces to defeat the Blue Bison 25-12, 25-17 and 25-20.

Allie Legere and Samantha Atchinson each had five aces to lead Niskayuna. Legere also had seven kills and four digs, while Atchinson contributed four kills and 24 digs.

Heather Cook chipped in with seven blocks, four aces, four digs and two kills, and Samantha Mills added 14 digs and two aces for the Silver Warriors.

Mackenzie Rowland had eight kills and three blocks for Shaker (3-6). Lauren Woods recorded seven kills, and Olivia Bruni added 10 digs.
