continued Ann Bradshaw, another volunteer for the event, said she likes to help out her church and also enjoys bringing everyone together. The event also serves as the biggest fundraiser for the church.
“The camaraderie of all the people that come together in cooking I enjoy it, because you meet a lot of people and you get to know all your parishioners and other people in the church,” said Bradshaw. “I love doing it. Any kind of volunteer work gives you a great sense of satisfaction, it really does.”
Bradshaw said she likes to cook anyway, so the event is a great way for her to get behind the hot plate. She said months in advance, starting in July, cooking gets started. She said there are also a lot of seasonal items at the festival to welcome the season.
“Everything is made from scratch and everything is homemade,” said Bradshaw. “There is something for everyone; the old, the young and the in between. It is a good time of the year.”
