BETHLEHEM Editor, The Spotlight:
I write to express my support for Kyle Kotary as our next Town Supervisor.
Kyle’s commitment to environmental stewardship, preserving open space and recreational areas has been key to preserving the high quality of life we have become accustomed to during his tenure on the Town Board. In short, Kyle has been an impressive champion of issues of importance to all of us, and has the experience and leadership skills necessary to succeed as supervisor.
A few years ago, our Town was recognized by a national publication as one of the best places in America to live and raise a family. Part of what made Bethlehem such a desirable place then -- as now -- is the character of our community, which stems from careful planning and attention to details that residents care deeply about. Kyle has demonstrated his commitment to issues that my family and friends care about. Kyle sponsored the resolution making Bethlehem one of New York’s first Climate Smart Communities, which is a program that pairs NYS government with local communities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while saving taxpayer dollars and promoting healthy vibrant communities. During Kyle’s tenure, the Town has continued to refine and enhance its recycling program and has installed energy-saving equipment. It has even secured a grant to install solar panels.
Kyle has also worked to preserve open space, protect farmland and expand and improve our parks and recreational opportunities. As anyone who has ever seen the joy of their children during a “Dive-In Movie” at the Town Pool, it is clear that our recreational facilities are among the finest in the area. Kyle had a hand in all of that.
Kyle Kotary’s accomplishments over the past six years on the Town Board speak volumes about his ability to lead and I urge your readers to vote for Kyle on primary day, Sept. 13.
