Colonie: Man upset over personal issues goes missing

Tongba Nguyen, 40, of Latham was reported missing this morning. Colonie police said he was last seen at his apartment in the Latham Village Apartments.

— Colonie police are currently searching for a man who was last seen by his wife at 12:15 a.m. this morning.

According to a press release, Tongba Nguyen, 40, was reported missing today after expressing to his wife that he was upset over personal and financial. He was last seen at his apartment in the Latham Village Apartments.

Colonie Police Lt. Robert Winn said Nguyen does not have a car, bike or a job that he gets around on and generally stays at home. Winn also added that he does not have any known friends or family in the area.

Nguyen also said that he may harm himself but did not give any indication as to how he would do it, according to police.

Nguyen is described as an Asian male with a dark complexion. He is 5'11", 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Police said the clothes he was wearing at the time he left is unknown but he usually wears jeans, t-shirt, sneakers and some times an older sweatshirt in poor condition and/or a black leather jacket. Police also said his teeth are in poor condition.

If there is anyone with any information as to Nguyen's whereabouts, Colonie police are asking to contact the department at 518-783-2744.

UPDATE: Colonie police said the man who went missing earlier this morning has been found.

Police said Nguyen was found in Clifton Park by a motorist. New York State Police went and picked him up around 5:20 p.m.
