Niskayuna girls edge Burnt Hills

Parzych's late goal proves to be game winner

— Anka Parzych came to Niskayuna's rescue again.

Parzych scored the tying and go-ahead goals in the final 20 minutes to lead the Silver Warriors (3-0) past Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 3-2 in Tuesday's Suburban Council girls soccer game.

BH-BL took a 2-1 lead on Morgan Burchhardt's goal in the first minute of the second half before Parzych tied the score off a feed from Meghan Doyle midway through the half. Parzych then tallied the game winner with less than six minutes left in regulation. It was Parzych's second game-winning goal of the season, with the first coming in the final minute of Saturday's 3-2 home win against Shenendehowa.

Maddie Karafanda scored the other goal for Niskayuna off a Jennie Cascino corner kick in the 25th minute of the first half. Meghan Malone tallied for BH-BL in the first half.

Niskayuna goaltender Katie Hartlage made 11 saves, while netminder Florie Comley had 10 saves for BH-BL.
