Field hockey: Shaker goes into extra time for win

Ciavardoni's OT goal gives Bison first win

— The Shaker field hockey team broke a six-game losing streak with Tuesday's 2-1 overtime win over Columbia in a Suburban Council game.

Giovanna Ciavardoni's goal put the Blue Bison (1-6) ahead to stay. Hayley Beach tallied for Shaker in regulation, with Maggie Muzio and Victoria McAuley assisting on both goals.

Jennifer Brady scored on one of Columbia's two shots in the game.

The Blue Devils' record dropped to 1-6.
