Tuesday roundup: Niskayuna slams Guilderland

Goldstock posts 10-point game to lead the Silver Warriors

The Niskayuna boys lacrosse team continued to roll through the Suburban Council by beating Guilderland 16-4 Tuesday in Guilderland.

The Silver Warriors jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter and added seven goals in the third quarter to pull away from the Dutchmen.

Luke Goldstock led Niskayuna with six goals and four assists. Justin Picardi and Lucas Maloney each contributed hat tricks, and Matt Sexton added two goals and an assist.

Patrick Wood, Cody Dyer, Brad Johnston and Connor McLachlan tallied for Guilderland.

In other Suburban Council action Tuesday, Ballston Spa hung on for a 9-8 road win at Bethlehem.

The Scotties had a 9-5 lead entering the fourth quarter before the Eagles scored three times to trim Ballston Spa's advantage to a single goal.

Mark Leslie had three goals and an assist for Ballston Spa. Matt McDonald contributed a goal and six assists, and goaltender Wayne VanValkenburg stopped 13 shots.

John Gosstola, Liam Christensen and Brad Bettinger each tallied twice for Bethlehem. Goaltender Dan Comber made 13 saves.
