Boys lacrosse
Guilderland built a three-goal halftime lead and held on for an 8-6 Suburban Council boys lacrosse win over Ballston Spa Tuesday.
The Dutchmen scored three times in the second quarter to take a 6-3 lead into intermission. The Scotties rallied several times in the second half, but they couldn't catch Guilderland.
Patrick Wood tallied three times, while Connor Drislane and Connor McLachlan each contributed a pair of goals for Guilderland. Goaltender Sean Klim stopped 12 of the 18 shots he faced.
Mark Leslie led a balanced Ballston Spa attack with two goals. Matt and John McDonald added a goal and an assist apiece.
In other Suburban Council boys lacrosse action, Saratoga Springs scored six times in the second quarter en route to a 13-6 victory over Bethlehem in Delmar.
JR Campbell led the Blue Streaks with six goals and two assists, while Danny Costello recorded a hat trick and three assists. Goaltender Zach Knight turned away 17 shots.
Liam Christensen tallied five times for Bethlehem, and goalie Dan Comber made 12 saves.
Girls lacrosse
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake raced out to a 9-3 lead and cruised to a 16-6 Suburban Council girls lacrosse victory over Colonie Tuesday.
Catherine Clark's six-goal performance paced the Lady Spartans. Nicole Beardsley contributed three goals and four assists, and Christina Krowel added a hat trick.
Kelley Murphy tallied twice for Colonie.
Boys track
Averill Park swept a Suburban Council boys track and field dual meet with Niskayuna and Mohonasen Tuesday in Niskayuna.
Averill Park defeated Niskayuna 104-73 and Mohonasen 116-65 in the head-to-head match-ups. Mohonasen beat Niskayuna 100-77 to earn the split.
Derrick Smith led Niskayuna with victories in the 100-meter dash and the long jump. Andrew Haber (800-meter race), Harrison Yoder (pole vault) and Stephen VanHoesen (discus) also won individual events for the Silver Warriors.
Trevon Tucker (200-meter dash) and Chris Richardson (high jump) earned individual victories for Mohonasen.
