Letter: Board members should be more involved on rec center

Now enters the second Councilperson, Liz Kasper, who returned to Niskayuna after a four month vacation. Despite the hiatus, she weighed in on the issue. She sees nothing wrong with being in absentia, claiming she has read the press articles, e-mails etc. She was elected to attend board meetings and vote on issues. This is an important commitment which she ignores. She was also absent last year for the same period of time.

I support the Soccer and Lacrosse building not for personal reasons but out of community concern. We have many programs that fall under the “want” category. They are hardly needs, but I support all these programs. They add to the social landscape of our community, benefiting various segments of the community. Most of these programs come with a price tag. However, these programs are attractive and do attract people to move into our community. When this happens, everyone wins.
