Dollar Tree in Rotterdam robbed at gunpoint

— A white man allegedly displayed a gun and robbed the Dollar Tree store in Rotterdam on Tuesday, Aug. 7, around 8:45 p.m., according to police.

Rotterdam police attempted to locate the man after he allegedly robbed the store in the BJ’s Plaza at 70 W. Campbell Road, but were unsuccessful. After allegedly taking an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, the man fled on foot toward Putnam Road, police said.

Police released a description of the man on Wednesday, Aug. 8, and are asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect.

Police described the white man as wearing cut-off jeans shorts, a long sleeve gray thermal shirt, a navy blue ball cap and a white bandana over his face. The man was of average build.
