"We were playing with the puck inside the zone, and we've been trying to get the guys to just clear the puck rather than play with it," said Fraser.
Stockman kept Shen off the scoreboard until Kevin Miles wristed a shot over his shoulder and under the crossbar for a power play goal 30 seconds into the third period. CBA's response came with 4:10 left in regulation when Chris O'Keefe knocked home a rebound off Grant Stockman's initial shot from inside the blue line.
The Brothers started the overtime period on a power play and got off several good shots, but three saves by Walter and a key block by defenseman Adam Beairsto kept the score tied at 1 until Tardif's goal gave the Plainsmen the victory.
"He is our most consistent player," de la Rocha said of Beairsto, one of four Shen seniors honored prior to the game on Senior Night. "He's not the guy who will score the winning goal or make the pretty pass, but he plays defense very well."
Shen gets six days off before hosting Burnt Hills/Ballston Spa next Wednesday, while CBA wraps up its regular season Saturday when it hosts Bethlehem.
