Saturday highlights: Carroll leads Bethlehem past CBA

Eagles move into tie for third place in CDHSHL

Andrew Carroll's hat trick propelled Bethlehem to a 4-1 win against Christian Brothers Academy in Saturday's Capital District High School Hockey League game at the Albany County Hockey Facility in Colonie.

Evan Van Epps gave CBA (9-7-0 league, 9-10-1 overall) a 1-0 lead early in the first period, but Jon Clark responded with a goal to tie the game at 1. Carroll then struck twice later in the opening stanza to put Bethlehem (9-3-0, 14-5-0) in front to stay.

Goaltender Kevin Cooley made 18 saves to help the Eagles move into a three-way tie with CBA and Shaker/Colonie for third place in the CDHSHL Division I standings. All three teams have 14 standings points entering the final week of the regular season. Kyle Stockman stopped 24 shots for the Brothers.

In non-league action, Shaker/Colonie saw a 3-2 lead disappear in a 5-3 loss to Saranac Lake in Lake Placid.

Mike Mineau scored twice, and Joey Chiara added a goal and an assist for the Jets, whose overall record fell to 7-10-2.
