Letter: Fundraiser dinner a success

Editor, The Spotlight:

On Tuesday evening, Jan. 24, Boy Scout Troop 58 held its 4th Annual All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Dinner Fund Raiser at the Nathaniel Blanchard American Legion Post on Poplar Drive in Delmar.

Each year, Troop 58 scouts and families look forward to this event because each year the community shows up in strength to support the boy scouts and to enjoy a delicious pancake, sausage, fruit cocktail dinner complete with coffee, juice, hot cocoa and even Jell-O with whipped cream for dessert. Funds raised from this event help the troop participate in outdoor activities, teach scouting skills, and to complete many community projects.

The troop wants to thank the community for coming out to support this event and extend to special thanks to our troop sponsor, the Nathaniel Blanchard American Legion Post. The Post has been Troop 58’s sponsor for nearly 100 years. Troop 58 is grateful and honored for the Post’s support over the years and for its help with this event every year.

This year Troop 58 also wants to express its gratitude to ShopRite for its very generous donation of food for this event. This contribution helped to make this 4th annual event the troops most successful Pancake Dinner to date. Thank you to everyone that participated. The troop is looking forward to the 5th annual Pancake Dinner next January; we hope the community is too.
