Indulging in massages seems natural for Mason, who uses them herself to deal with chronic pain, but she doesn’t think enough people realize their value. That’s why in her eyes, Balance Massage Studio shouldn’t worry about other area practices.
“I think there’s not really any competition because more people need massages than get them,” said Mason. “Our longevity, continuing education to improve our skills, keeping our eye on new techniques (not just what’s trendy) and the fact that our customer sessions are not cookie cutter set us apart.”
The studio recently redecorated three rooms—all nature themed—and started selling Young Living Essential Oils.
Being part of the community is just as important to Mason as delivering individualized, top-notch massages.
“We donate a lot to schools and organizations. We have an annual open house fundraiser for the Bethlehem Food Pantry and Whitney Young,” said Mason. “We sponsor Dollars for Schools, donate to Umbrella of Colonie and recently sponsored the Bethlehem Triathlon Club.”
