Delmar Family Medicine takes almost all insurances and sees established patients the day they call for an appointment, so appointments don’t linger for weeks. It also serves all ages in its comfortable environment.
“In today’s healthcare climate you have a 15-minute visit with your physician on average,” he said. “I want that time to be spent on the problem at hand, not reviewing what transpired the last two visits to get up to speed.”
He said using electronic medical records has helped the practice not waste time reviewing previous visits. Since the information is digitally stored, it’s easily available.
“I think we have successfully utilized technology to enhance patient care and allow for the visit to be spent on the patients current issue not trying to figure out what was done last,” he said.
Also, patients typically don’t have long waiting room experiences, with the typical wait time not exceeding 15 minutes, he said.
“When they have a medical need we can meet it,” he said. “Usually they see the same provider every time.”
