The final sequence began when Drew Brun-dige was fouled in the act of shooting a three-pointer with 4.4 seconds left. The reserve guard made the first two foul shots to tie the game at 49.
Dzikas said he didn’t agree with the foul call on the play. “He (the referee) chose to make the call, and it is what it is,” he said.
Brundige missed the third free throw, but Lott grabbed the rebound, dribbled in and hit a tough shot as Miller fouled him to give CBA the lead.
“I think Chaz kept his head and knew what was going on,” said Doemel. “It was a great play.”
Lott missed his foul shot, but Brundige made one of the two free throws assessed following Miller’s technical foul. The Brothers then inbounded the ball to run the final second off the clock.
Krong scored 13 points, and Lott contributed 10 points for CBA, which ad-vances to Thursday’s Class AA semifinal game against Bishop Maginn.
