— Another of Wood’s goals, announced at a previous organizational meeting, was to establish a budget committee. A Budget Review Committee has been established, and other members include supervisors Jack Lawler, Matthew Veitch, Preston Jenkins, Jean Raymond, Arthur Wright, and Mindy Wormuth. The committee will have its first meeting in March, with monthly meetings to follow.

“The purpose of this committee will be to monitor the income and expenditures in the 2012 budget, identify areas of shortfall and expenditures going above appropriations and begin planning for the 2013 budget. In addition, the committee will be looking to see where savings can be made or revenues can be increased. Make no doubt about it…we’re in a tough budget year and the prospects for next year are even more difficult. We need to be on top of every category of the budget and make meaningful adjustments as we go along,” Wood said.“The challenges given to this committee are great, but their knowledge and experience will help them to do an outstanding job.
