Schalmont's Devon Willis and Voorheesville's Don Case were named first team all-state football players by the New York State Sportswriters Association Wednesday.
Willis was the leading rusher for Schalmont, which won its third consecutive Section II Class B title and reached the state semifinals. The sophomore gained 1,580 yards on the ground and scored 18 touchdowns for the Sabres.
Case anchored the offensive line for Voorheesville, which missed the Class C playoffs and finished with a 4-5 record. Linemate J.D. Springer was named to the third team in Class C.
Three Schalmont players earned all-state honors on defense. Linebacker Jean Gomez and defensive back Alex Hildebrand were second team selections, and lineman Mike Famolaro was named to the fourth team in Class B.
Albany Academy had three third team Class B all-state players -- quarterback Conner Hartigan, defensive lineman Mike Paparian and linebacker Ian Bennett. Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk offensive lineman Alex Soutiere was a fourth team selection.
The Class AA and A all-state teams will be announced next week.
