Football: Sportswriters select Class AA, A All-State teams

Burnt Hills, Shen well represented in year-end awards

Four Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake and three Shenendehowa football players received all-state honors from the New York State Sportswriters Association Wednesday.

BH-BL linebacker Dylan Wydronkowski was named a first team all-state defensive player in Class A. Defensive lineman Nick Crocetto was a second team pick, while offensive lineman Nick Marschesiello earned a spot on the third team. Wide receiver Eric Dillon was a fifth team selection.

Shen linebacker Brandon Miller took top honors among Section II Class AA players with a second team all-state selection. Offensive lineman Mark Thomas was named to the third team, and running back Tony Fusco earned fourth team honors.

Other area players named to the Class AA all-state list include Christian Brothers Academy defensive lineman Nick Cleveland (third team), Niskayuna wide receiver Josh Callahan (fourth team), Bethlehem place kicker Jon Martin (fifth team) and Shaker's Ryan Griffin (fifth team linebacker) and David Morrison (sixth team offensive lineman).
