“Our students write letters to active soldiers stationed overseas, as well as sing to seniors and visit nursing homes,” said March.
Another opportunity to get involved in helping others comes through the school’s Refiner’s Fire program, which prepares those in middle school and older for a mission that takes place over spring break. Students involved in Refiner’s Fire meet every week starting in fall.
“It’s really wonderful to see these students give up their spring break to serve others,” said March.
The school will be holding a pair of open houses in February for those in interested in learning more about its programs and facilities. The preschool open house will be held Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 7 p.m. and the open house for the kindergarten-eighth-grade program will be held Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 7 p.m.
Both open houses will highlight the curriculum, as well as the different clubs, athletics and activities available to the students, who typically come from all across the Capital District. March said the school’s teachers will be on hand at the open houses so parents will be able to ask them questions directly and check out the classrooms.
