Currently, the school is investing in technology education.
A new technology teacher is implementing a new program into his curriculum with students in the 5th through 8th grades. Each student is taking part in a project that designs, builds, tests and markets skateboards. Others students are in the design phase of building a website where the skateboards will be for sale.
In addition, the school is working on integrating online tools like Skype into their curriculum for use of students and teachers alike.
“We tried it once for a student who was home from school, but it was important he didn’t miss the lesson that day,” said Loomis. “It worked out well, so we’re on the verge of holding some classes through Skype. That way if your student is absent and you have the right to equipment at home, they may be able to still participate.”
