continued “I honestly do not see a great need for controversy here because supervisors have always been involved in citizens group like this and my intent was to help,” said Clarkson in a later interview. “The study doesn’t recommend things. It just presents options and does that very well.”
Liebschutz said he felt the actual contents of the report are being overlooked because members of the board were more focused on process than the study itself.
“This was a volunteer job for us,” he said. “We (the committee members) donated a lot of time and effort into making this happen. This was not the supervisor’s report, it is the committee’s report. He made recommendations and his input was valuable.”
The Town Board is expected to discuss the contents of the report at a future meeting.
