SCHENECTADY COUNTY — Two community Memorial Day parades honored those who paid the greatest price of all in service for their country.
The Scotia Memorial Day Parade on Wednesday, May 23, kicked off the commemorations throughout Schenectady County. Rotterdam's Memorial Day Parade was held the following day and continued the celebration and remembrance.

Despite a wet start with rain pouring down and people scurrying for shelter or opening an umbrella, the sky cleared shortly after the Rotterdam Memorial Day Parade kicked off on Thursday, May 24.
