As we've reached the end of the high school sports season, we ask you which of these people deserve to be the Coach of the Year in Colonie. Here are your four choices:
Heather Fiore (Colonie girls basketball) -- After being turned aside in the 2011 Section II Class AA finals by Shaker, Fiore and the Lady Raiders defeated the Blue Bison in the semifinals on their way to winning the Sectional championship against Albany.
Courtney Hill (Shaker girls lacrosse) -- In her fourth year with the program and her second as head coach, Hill guided the Blue Bison to an upset over previously undefeated Guilderland in the Class A Sectional finals and a trip to Cortland for the state semifinals, where they lost to Penfield 5-4 in overtime.
Carrie Hagwell (Loudonville Christian softball) -- Coached the Lady Eagles to an undefeated regular season record and a berth in the Section II Class D finals.
Dave Doemel (CBA basketball) -- Doemel's Brothers defeated Troy in an overtime thriller to win their fourth consecutive Sectional title. They then reached the Class AA state semifinals, where they lost to eventual champion Mount Vernon.
Voting will remain open until midnight Monday, and the winner of this poll moves on to next week's poll where we will determine who the overall Coach of the Year should be.
