Sports poll: Who is your coach of the year in Saratoga County?

Reader poll

Who is your coach of the year in Saratoga County?

  • Mike Campisi (Shen boys soccer) 67%
  • Brent Steuerwald (Shen football) 5%
  • Gary Bynon (BH-BL girls volleyball) 14%
  • Dave Torres (Saratoga hockey) 14%

21 total votes.

As we've reached the end of the high school sports season, we ask you which of these people deserve to be the Coach of the Year in Saratoga County. Here are your four choices:

Mike Campisi (Shenendehowa boys soccer) -- In what turned out to be his final season, Campisi led the Plainsmen to the Section II Class AA championship and a berth in the state semifinals.

Brent Steuerwald (Shen football) -- After announcing his decision to retire at the end of the 2011 season, Steuerwald guided Shen to the Sectional title and a trip to Kingston for the state Class AA semifinals.

Gary Bynon (Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake girls volleyball) -- With a veteran lineup at his disposal, Bynon directed the Lady Spartans to the Class A state title and their first championship in six years.

Dave Torres (Saratoga Springs hockey) -- Torres entered after Mike Ricupero resigned at the start of the season and coached the Blue Streaks to their third straight Sectional title.

Voting will remain open until midnight Tuesday, and the winner of this poll moves on to next week's poll where we will determine who the overall Coach of the Year should be.
