Congratulations to Voorheesville baseball coach Kyle Turski for being the readers' choice as our Coach of the Year. Now, let's turn our attention to the high school teams that made life exciting during the 2011-12 season and see who your choice is for team of the year. Your choices in Colonie are:

Shaker boys cross country -- Won the Section II Class A and Federation titles, and went to the Nike Team Nationals for the second consecutive year

CBA basketball -- The perennial power needed overtime to defeat Troy for its fourth consecutive Class AA Sectional championship

Colonie girls basketball -- Defeated crosstown rival Shaker in the Sectional semifinals and then beat Albany for the Class AA title

Shaker girls lacrosse -- Edged undefeated Guilderland 9-8 for its first Sectional title and made it to the state Class A semifinals

Shaker girls track and field -- Swept all of the major invitational meets it went to and won the Suburban Council and Section II championships
