Since it's starting to feel like spring outside, it's time to start looking at the upcoming spring sports season beginning with boys lacrosse. There are several prime candidates for winning the Section II Class A title including the following:

Shenendehowa -- Last year's Class A champions, the Plainsmen suffered a big hit to their defense with the graduation of goaltender Bobby Wardwell. Still, Shen is loaded with offensive talent headlined by senior Michael Jenkins.

Niskayuna -- The team that finished second to Shen in both the Suburban Council standings and in the Class A playoffs. The Silver Warriors have most of their starters back, so you know that they will be on Shen's heels. The question is whether they can surpass the Plainsmen.

Guilderland -- A traditional power from the Suburban Council South Division, the Dutchmen are looking to be one of the final four teams playing in Sectionals. Guilderland is always a team to keep an eye on.

Shaker -- Sean Hennessy's Blue Bison are hoping to end a long Sectional title drought in Latham, but they must make their way through a tough Suburban Council North Division that includes Shen, Niskayuna and Ballston Spa.

Colonie -- The Garnet Raiders have quietly become one of the top teams in the Suburban Council South Division. Can they take the next step and win the title this year?

As always, select the team you think will win it all. Voting will run until midnight Monday, so make your choice today.
