Christian Brothers Academy (17-3)

Thank you for participating in last week's sports poll. This week, we turn our attention to the Section II Class AA baseball playoffs, where anything can -- and usually does -- happen. The field is loaded with talented teams, but we could only choose five for the purposes of this poll. The choices are:
Christian Brothers Academy -- The Brothers cruised through the Big 10 schedule with a 15-1 record, but they were only .500 against non-league competition. What will happen when they play a top-notch Suburban Council team?
Columbia -- The veteran-laden Blue Devils emerged as the top team in the Suburban Council. But as area high school baseball fans know, all it takes is one bad game to trip up a top-notch team.
Guilderland -- The Dutchmen's 1-6 non-league record looks bad until you realize that they've played some of the top teams in New York including Massapequa and Clarkstown South. They're battle tested.
Shaker -- The defending Section II champions reloaded this year with strong pitching and clutch hitting, especially from outfielder Eric Egan.
Shenendehowa -- The Plainsmen are a perennial Suburban Council power and a threat to win the Class AA title. But can they execute when it counts?
So, who do you think will be holding the Section II championship plaque next Friday at Joe Bruno Stadium? Cast your votes now. The poll will remain open until midnight Friday, so you only have a couple of days to participate.
