Traffic stop leads to sex charges for Schenectady man

— A 32-year-old Schenectady man allegedly had sexual intercourse with a female under 15 at his residence, according to police.

State Police on Tuesday, Oct. 16, arrested James H. Weidaw III, of Van Vranken Avenue, and charged him with rape in the second degree, felony.

Weidaw was initially pulled over by police during a traffic stop in the Town of Clifton Park while he was with the victim, police said. He was arrested after police discovered the alleged incident.

Weidaw was arraigned at Schenectady City Court and remanded to Schenectady County jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $15,000 bail bond.
