Anka Parzych's goal midway through the second half proved to be the game winner as Niskayuna hung on for a 3-2 victory over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake in Tuesday's Suburban Council North Division girls soccer game in Niskayuna.
Kelly Hartlage and Meghan Doyle tallied in the first half to give the Silver Warriors (3-0-0) a 2-0 halftime lead. Carly Finn scored 10 minutes into the second half to pull the Spartans within a goal before Parzych struck eight minutes later.
Finn scored her second goal of the game with less than six minutes left in regulation, but it wasn't enough for BH-BL.
In Suburban Council South Division action, Guilderland (2-1-0) rebounded from Thursday's 1-0 loss to Bethlehem by beating Mohonasen 4-0.
Jess Capone, Angela Luizzi and Kara Carman scored in the first half to give the Lady Dutch a 3-0 lead. Capone added her second goal of the afternoon in the second half to seal the victory.
Mohonasen goaltender Saeeda Abdul-Aziz stopped 11 shots.
Bethlehem (3-0-0) kept its momentum going with a 5-0 victory over Colonie Tuesday. Tara Teal had a hat trick, and Kaylee Rickert contributed two goals and an assist for the Lady Eagles.
Colonie goaltenders Courtney Yule and Meg Penny had a combined total of nine saves.
Boys soccer
Two goals in the second half helped the Shenendehowa boys soccer team defeat Ballston Spa 3-0 in Tuesday's Suburban Council North Division game.
Chris Schmid gave the Plainsmen (3-0-0) a 1-0 halftime lead with a first-half goal. Drew Lewis and Ricky Grable had Shen's second-half goals.
Justin Rohrwasser made five saves, and Patrick Gerstenberger stopped two shots in goal for the Plainsmen. Ballston Spa goalies Patrick Touhey and Brady King made a total of nine saves.
In Burnt Hills, Brendan Griffiths' goal proved to be the difference as Niskayuna edged Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 1-0.
