We are not opposed to the District selling the building to a business. The dentist office at Adams Place and Kenwood is an example of appropriate fit. A day care business for 80 children is not.
We think School’s Out is a good business which provides much needed services. Many neighbors have used School’s Out. Some even served on their board. But this location is not appropriate for a large day care business. We have zoning regulations for a reason. The Zoning Board of Appeals has the responsibility to ensure that the residents of the community receive protection and enhancement of their safety, property values and quality of life. We love the children in our neighborhood. We love the sound of their voices. We want to protect them and all who live in our neighborhood.
