Pine Bush LL team wins Utica Wood Bat Tournament

The Guilderland Nighthawks took first place at the Utica Wood Bat Tournament — one of three tournaments the Pine Bush Little League team participated in as they prepare for their trip to Cooperstown’s Field of Dreams later this month. The players are Jonathan Ciccone, Christopher Ciccone, Jake Hernandez, Joe Saia, Joseph Harwood, Donny Chrysler, Zach Snyder, Luke Walter, Brian Cubello, Angelo Sbardella, Brenden Hoffman and Hunter Harris.

The Nighthawks upheld their No. 1 seeding entering the tour-nament by winning the cham-pionship game in 12 innings. They allowed the fewest runs out of the nine teams that com-peted in Utica.

The Nighthawks — a team comprised of Pine Bush American and National Little League players — will compete againt 103 other teams from across the country during their week-long stay in Cooperstown Aug. 23-30.
