— Guilderland begins its season with the team it met in last year’s Sectional final when it meets Bethlehem Tuesday, Sept. 2, in a Suburban Council South Division game.

“Right out of the gate, you’re playing one of the top teams,” said Snyder. “It’s good because you know where you stand early, but you also know that later in the season, you’re going to be a different team than you were at the beginning.”

Making its way through the Suburban Council presents its own challenge for Guilderland. Snyder said the South Division is improving with Mohonasen and Colonie developing more soccer players, and he added the North Division is tough.

“I think the Suburban Council gets a little more even every year,” said Snyder.
