Boys basketball: Bethlehem fends off Averill Park's rally

Connor Morelli pours in 24 points for the Eagles

— Connor Morelli's 24-point performance helped Bethlehem defeat Averill Park 66-61 in Friday's Suburban Council South Division boys basketball game.

The Eagles (2-1) built a 47-38 lead through three quarters before the Warriors (2-1) rallied in the fourth quarter to make it close.

Morelli came up big at the free throw line, as he made 10 of his 13 foul shots on his way to his big evening. John Sica contributed 14 points, and Dan Ball added 10 points for Bethlehem.

Logan Fahrenkopf paced Averill Park with 15 points.
