• Be extra careful of school buses. Now that schools are back in session, buses are back on the road for the first time after the snow fell. Remember that in the morning and afternoon children might be waiting for the bus hidden on the other side of a snow bank, or might be forced to walk along the side of the road because of deep snow. Always stop for a school bus with its flashing red lights on.
• Check road and weather reports before you head out, especially on longer trips. If it’s a true mess out there, the better and more efficient option might be to delay your travel for a bit until things improve.
Here’s to safe driving in 2013.
