— A wild second inning led to four more Colonie runs. After third baseman Mary Waterman was hit by a pitch, second baseman Courtney Jones laid down a bunt single. As Waterman raced for third, an errant throw allowed her to score. Shortstop Stephanie Reinhardt followed with an RBI single for a 5-0 Colonie lead.

Following a Shaker pitching change, walks to Mandy Marchesini and Lane loaded the bases for Sholtes, who drove in Colonie's sixth run of the game on a single. Two batters later, Blum launched a deep fly ball to left field for a sacrifice fly for a 7-0 Garnet Raider lead.

Colonie tacked on six runs in the fifth inning to complete the scoring. Marchesini had a two-run single, while Ogren and Blum contributed RBI hits.

"Unfortunately, our pitchers struggled a bit tonight," said Kurkowski. "They've got some very good hitters."

Sholtes contributed two hits and three RBI, and Reinhardt added two hits and an RBI for Colonie. Elliott finished with a pair of singles for Shaker.
