— The Bethlehem girls volleyball team earned its first victory of the season by defeating Guilderland in straight sets during Tuesday's Suburban Council match at Guilderland.

Gabby Giacone recorded 17 kills and two blocks to lead the Lady Eagles (1-1) to a 25-20, 25-22, 25-19 victory over the Lady Dutch (1-1).

Jenna Giacone contributed nine kills and seven blocks, and Shannon Howland added 23 assists.

In another Suburban Council match, defending state Class A champion Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake eased past Shaker in straight sets 25-12, 25-11 and 25-8.
