Albany County expands registration for H1N1 clinic Sunday

Albany County has expanded its telephone registration period for the H1N1 clinic that is to be held on Sunday, Nov. 15, to now close on Saturday, Nov. 14, until noon.

As of 12:45 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, according to a press release sent by the county, 2091 people had already registered for the vaccination clinic.

The Albany County Department of Health is able to administer 4,500 vaccines, according to the press release. Appointments must be made in order to receive the vaccine.

County officials also said the vaccines will be administered by priority, beginning with pregnant women, people who live with or provide care for infants under 6 months old, children 6 months to 4 years old, EMS personnel or those who have direct contact with patients or infectious materials and children and adolescents five to 18 years old who have underlying health conditions.

Those wishing to make an appointment by phone can do so by calling 447-4505 on Friday, Nov. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to noon, or registration can be completed online at www.albanycounty.com.health until 6 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15.

The clinic is being held at the Times Union Center, on South Pearl Street in Albany, from 10 a.m. through 7 p.m. Free parking will be available at the Times Union Center garage.
